Michael Casey known to his many friends as Mick, was born in Big Bona in 1895 and moved to Merasheen in 1953. He worked as fisherman and, in later years, as wharf manager and as a mail carrier. Mick resettled to Freshwater in 1967. He passed away in 1987 at the age of 92.

Barney Casey's Whiskey. Irishmen on a drunken spree are caught and put in jail.
Mary in the Dairy. A double suicide occurs when a young maid is forbidden to marry her true love.
Paddy's Leather Britches. When ruffians demand a meal they are served boiled trousers instead.
