Geraldine Hollett grew up in Pathend, Burin. Her father Charles is an inshore fisherman and her mother, the former Elizabeth Power, keeps a shop. Geraldine went to Father Berney Memorial School in Salt Pond and then on to Sir Wilfred Grenfell College. She graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Theatre) in 1999 and embarked on a successful acting career.

Geraldine co-founded The Once with Phil Churchill and Andrew Dale in September of 2007 during the Rising Tide Summer Theatre Festival in Trinity. She has been performing and recording with them ever since since. They even toured the world with British singer/songwriter Passenger.
