The Fatima Academy Accordion Group, under the direction of music teacher, Robert Colbourne, was formed in 2007 to foster traditional music within the young people of the Cape Shore. It was open to Grade 7 to Grade 12 students. They rearranged traditional pieces to give them a more modern feel while keeping the integrity of the tunes.

Students in the group had eclectic musical tastes that ranged from Irish/Newfoundland folk music to hard rock. They were driven by pure love of music.
