Anne-Marie Murray grew up in Placentia. She comes from a musical family and often performed with her sisters Elizabeth, Margie and Elaine. At 16, she left home to study at the Royal Conservatory of Music affiliated with the University of Toronto. After her student days, she taught and went on to record with the CBC.

Anne Marie has maintained a strong interest in popular music and has held fast to her Celtic roots. She has traveled in many countries of the world, and discovered the joy of performing, and the fulfillment of writing. Anne-Marie is also the founder of Avalon Publishing. This talented vocalist-poet writes and sings about humanist issues, about peoples yearning for love and union.
